Christmas Recap

Twas the night before Christmas and all through the house
lots of creatures were stirring, no room for a mouse.

The stockings were hung by the chimney with care,
In hopes that a Wii might perhaps be left there.
The children woke up, the wrapping a hassle.
No Wii, sob sob sob, but oh joy it's a castle!!
The Day after Christmas (or the day after that)
We all went to DC to muse and to chat.
At the museum, this face caused a clatter
I sprang into action to see what was the matter.
Sweet innocence turned to mischief in a flash
Little fingers pull at the (really expensive) train's sash.
After mom's mea culpa, on her child's behalf,
we went home to regroup (and eventually to laugh).
Then last but not least, a celebration - let's cheer!
Happy Birthday to Papa and a Happy New Year!

  1. You are so graceful with your writing that it's easy to forget what you're actually describing. The pictures help a bit too!

  2. What fun it was! Loved the pictures. The one with the railing in the foreground makes it look like Mom is wearing a hat made out of lights. Thanks for your fabulous hospitality!
