This year for Thanksgiving I decided I wanted to try my hand at homemade apple pie. Pie crust perfection has always alluded me so I went trolling the internet for the perfect pie crust recipe. One link led to another and finally I literally found "the perfect pie crust." I experimented using the almond crust which is referenced in the actual apple pie recipe I used found here. I also used the extra dough and apples I had to make this gallette and it was divine. Don't tell, but I think I liked it a little better than the pie.
This is what the cream and egg wash looks like before baking. The beautiful color it gives a pie's crust was a revelation.
