Double Double, Toil and Trouble

Fall is coming.  The weather is cooler and sweaters are making their way out of hibernation.  I can feel the chill slowly advancing and I imagine my own longing for it pulling it more quickly to us.

Tonite we went to the pumpkin patch with some friends and then took our booty home to carve.  The cold and wind nipped at my nose and fingers and I welcomed it.

After tucking my kids warm into their beds, I made myself a cup of hot cocoa - with a double helping of whipped cream.  I sat in front of my fireplace and pretended it was cold enough for a blazing fire.

Oh, how I love October.

This is Hazel with Nikolai's homework assignment.  He is suposed to take Petey the Penguin all over town with him.  As evidenced in this posting, it is Hazel who is fulfilling this assignment.  And in fact, she won't let anyone else lay a hand on Petey without pitching quite a fit.

Niko and Noah being silly boys like always.  Notice Hazel in the corner with Petey.

 Isaac playing peekabo.

I had to wrangle Petey away from Hazel to take this picture.  She wasn't happy.

Reunited with her favorite penguin and happily waiting for everyone to pick their pumpkins.

Cute Jake in his pumpkin matching jacket.

The loot.

Happy Halloween!

  1. I love Hazel's face in that first picture! I've always been a huge October fan. I don't know why I'm so nostalgic for the summer this year...

  2. October is also one of my favorite months. Break out the spiced cider! The pix of everyone are so cute, especially Hazel.
